A Big City Weekend!

As you may or may not know, Atlanta Christian College is located about ten minutes from the heart of the big city of Atlanta. This gives us at ACC a great opportunity that many other colleges do not have. One of my favorite things to do on the weekends is head downtown and hit up one of the many exiting places or events that Atlanta has to offer.

This past weekend, we decided to have a little fun and go to as many places in Atlanta that we could in one day. We started out going by to the zoo! (You can see us in the picture with some gorillas!) None of us have been to the zoo in many years, and it was fun to, kind of, relive our childhood. Next, we went to the world famous Varsity for some lunch. After that, we spent the rest of the day relaxing in Piedmont Park before capping it all off with trips to Krispy Kreme and then the Dwarf House (the first Chickfila)! It was a great way to spend a Saturday, and we did it all without having to drive over ten minutes to get to any one of the places!

Fall is here!

So it has begun to get cold and the leaves all around campus are now yellow, red and orange. This makes for a very beautiful campus. Intramural sports are still going strong with 2 vs 2 sand volleyball still going on and flag football just beginning. It is also the start of basketball season for both the men's and women's teams. Both team's are having a very strong start and we wish them the very best of safe travels as they are on the road this week to a tournament in Pennsylvania. That is one of the great things about playing collegiate level sports, you get to travel a lot! With Fall comes more work in classes with projects being due and tests coming up, so Fall is a beautiful time on the ACC campus, but it is also a busy time as well!

I had an awesome opportunity this week to go visit my brother Anthony and another girl from ACC, Kalyn, who are participating in an exchange student program in England. We met up in Paris for the week! This picture is of the three of us at the base of the Eiffel Tower! I will be spending next semester in Puebla, Mexico with this same organization, Globalscope.
