"The Block"!!!! no problem! ;)

Hi Guys,
I am currently in the middle of my junior and I in the teaching block. Boy is it tough! I have 18 hours and work! The good thing is I don't have extracurricular activities going on this semester, I don't mind that at all! Even though "the block" is super busy and tough, I really do enjoy it. I have gotten awesome experience that I don't believe I would be able to get somewhere else. I have been in a classroom every semester since I have been here at ACC and I have learned so much about becoming a better teacher. I feel like once I graduate from ACC I will be able to jump right into a classroom and be a great teacher. I haven't actually decided which grade I want to teach yet but I am pretty sure I want the younger grades. I believe with the younger grades I have a direct hand in helping them learn. I will lay the foundation for learning for the rest of their lives. Over-all "the block" has been stressful, it's not a walk in the park by no means, but I have learned a lot and it's been a good ride so far. By the time I graduate I will be the best teacher ever!!! ;) lol

ACC... WOW!

Hey all-

Sorry for not writing in awhile.....

I must first start off by saying..I'm terribly excited about Wednesday Sept. 30th! We are watching 'The Brave Little Toaster' for movie night! I love that movie and it's going to be awesome up on the projector! :D I cannot wait!

School is so crazy right now! LESSON PLANS LESSON PLANS LESSON PLANS, that's what my life consists of right now! I enjoy teaching and being around children as much as I can but this whole lesson plan writing thing is kicking my butt, so to speak! Wow... crazy fun! ;) Soccer is going well! We have picked up a few players and we are up to 15 from 7 at the beginning of the season! I must say we are doing much better and I thank God everyday for allowing us to do some much recruiting once school started because being without soccer for a whole year would most definitely be really hard on me! Soccer is my way of "de-stressing"! All my worries go away on a soccer field and I am totally relaxed after a game. Well on the other hand.. I'm not relaxed is the best word, more so dead tired would be a better term! lol But I do love it and I hope and pray we get an awesome recruiting class for the '10 season! (so if anyone is interested, please feel free to contact me, lol)

The sorority is doing good! We have a lot of girls in our new recruitment class this year! These girls are so on fire for our sorority and for God. They are definitely going to make our sorority an even better place to be once they cross over! I love all these girls so much and they are just starting out! I can't even explain to you guys how excited and blessed I feel to have these girls in my life, not just the recruits but all my sisters as well. I am an only child and I didn't grow up with sisters I could confide in or argue with! I love each and every one of these girls dearly and I wouldn't trade not one of them for anything!

Also my birthday is tomorrow and it's going to be great minus the homework and the awesome lesson plan writing I have to do! ;)

Well have a super day, night, weekend, week or whatever!! :D

School is underway!

Wow! School has fully started now and everyone is getting back into the swing of things! I already have so much to do, between papers projects and reading assignments I don't have any time to breathe! lol The big thing for me that's going on this week is Rec. Week starts for the sorority here on campus! We have loads of events planned for this week and I hope and pray we receive some really great girls! The sorority has gone through some tough situations and we have finally gotten back on track and we totally deserve some awesome girls! I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us this week! I will post pic's from all our events later on in the week so you can see what we have done and what we are about! Soccer is going well. We have a lot of hurdles to get over this season but we getting over them! God did answer our prayers about having numbers for this season but we aren't getting the result we had wanted. We are trying hard and growing closer as a team but we still have a lot of work to do to get where we want to by the end of the season! Wow my junior year is crazy and it's only the first month of school! It will only get better as it goes on! lol

A great start to a Junior year.....

Hey all!

School has started once again at the same time as last year, it never fails! Although it is school I am enjoying it. I love living in the apartments with my three favorite people on campus and there is never a dull moment. Soccer '09 has started as well, we are working harder this year than ever. I believe we will have a successful season and I cannot wait for our first game on Tuesday, although it is only a scrimmage it will still allow us to see where we stand! :) I am very excited about the season and getting to know all the awesome girls that are on our team! But if soccer isn't your thing ACC is sure to have what you are looking for. We had an awesome game night the other night as part of orientation. We played Taboo, Checkers, Uno, Twister, Ultimate Ping Pong, WII and even Guitar Hero. I had the oppotuniuty to meet some really cool freshmen and not to brag or anything but my team owned at Taboo! (btw we only one by one point) lol My Junior year has already started off great and I cannot wait to see what else is in store!

Summer Daze......

Hey All,

Summer is in full swing and it's almost over! :( I am not ready for it to be over, I feel it gets shorter and shorter each year! Although I am enjoying summer a lot and I don't want it to be over, I am eager for school to start back. I will be so busy this fall and I am so excited! I will be entering the teaching block, I am the captain of the Women's soccer team, Vice President of the sorority on campus, Sigma Alpha Omega, and I am a junior representative on SGA! WOW and on top of all that I have 18 semester hours! I am going to need a lot of sleep!!! (l0l) This upcoming semester is going to be awesome, especially in the sorority. We just had our national convention in North Carolina and we had the best time. We got a lot of great ideas for this year and I feel it's going to be an amazing year. God really is working in and through the sorority! I hope we have a lot of interest for recruitment this year, we could use a lot more girls! Our Women's Soccer Team's season is looking up as well! We have gotten some really good recruites and I believe we are going to have a positive year. We are working on our attitudes and work ethic for the fall and I believe every single girl has their whole heart invested in our team this year! I cannot wait for preseason and all of our games to come. Well I got to run, I have an interview soon at the Georgia Baptist Childrens Home, I want to volunteer there the rest of the summer and throughout the school year! Summer is almost over, so enjoy it while it lasts! :)

Soroity Retreat and Spring Formal '08!

Hey guys!
This past weekend was slammed packed! This past Friday the sorority on campus had a retreat! We camped out and had so much fun. The sorority is called Sigma Alpha Omega and it is a Christian Sorority. It has allowed me to become best friends with girls I otherwise wouldn't have. The sorority is so much fun and a great opportunity for girls to get more involved on campus and in the community with other women of Christ. Also this weekend was Spring Formal. It was so much fun. My friends and I got to get all dressed up and go out with our dates and just have fun. We got to dance and relax with classmates and teachers. The teachers had just as much fun as we did I believe. It was a lot of fun and a good rest from all the papers and tests we are having in the end of the semester.
Overall it was a very fun weekend!!! :)

WOW.... such a busy week!!!

This week has been crazy! We had an awesome Sunday Nights!!! Although it was cold we had some awesome games and we got to color eyes and I haven't gotten to do that in forever it feels like! But today was fun too, we went to the City of Refuge! Although I didn't get to do the job I wanted to do but I did get to pull weeds! YAY lol I didn't really enjoy it but I was doing it for God and for the betterment of the community. I had a hard time dealing with the job while I was there because I don't like doing yard work but I prayed about the whole situation and now I have realized that God was just testing me. He wanted to make sure I was willing to do anything for him and I didn't understand that at first but I do now! So yea I'm okay with the fact that I had to pull weeds all day! :D

Finally it works!

Hey there guys!
My name is Alex Pennington and I'm a freshman at ACC. This is my first post only because I have had the hardest time ever trying to get this to work! But luckily now it works and this the first of many posts for me.
So I had the most stressful week, I had a project due in Educational Foundations and it seemed to take up all my time this past week and I had two tests and I was just stressed out! My project went well and I didn't do too bad on it. I'm just very glad it's finally over. Now I get to move on to the next huge project and I get to look forward to all the "awesome" tests in the next six weeks! YAY Anyways that was my week nothing great happened but hopefully in the next few something more exciting will happen and I wont be a boring blogger!!!

'Till next time!!
